Brandon Morgan–Kansas City Has It All!

If you ask Brandon Morgan the best thing about working in Pearl’s Kansas City office, he has one answer. “It’s the Chiefs, of course!” he laughs. “Seriously though, KC is a big city with a small-town feel.” And Brandon has been enjoying that vibe for 17 years. “Many of my friends from college settled in this area and my family is just 2.5 hours away,” he says. According to Brandon, Kansas City has a host of things to keep his wife and kids busy, including great museums, art galleries, outdoor activities, and wonderful restaurants. “You’ve all heard of BBQ, right?!” he says.

Prior to accepting a position at Pearl Insurance, Brandon worked in the printing industry but saw the writing on the wall. “The world was clearly going digital, and I felt like I needed to find a new opportunity,” he explains. After accepting a position at Farmers Insurance in their automotive claims division, Brandon was lucky to see an opening at Pearl. He joined the automotive aftermarket client relations team four years ago and is now a team lead.

“I like that Pearl is family owned,” he says. “I feel I can make a real difference every day because it gives me a sense of ownership over my work.” He also feels a little lighter each day! “It’s definitely happier on the sales side of the equation rather than adjusting claims,” he explains. His position provides many opportunities for learning and keeps him on his toes. “Whether it’s reviewing a new line of coverage or finding innovative ways to help customers secure the coverage that’s right for their business, I’m always learning,” Brandon says. “It’s one of the many reasons I love my job”.

Words to Live By

“Nah, I can probably just fix it myself!”

Brandon is married and has 5-year-old twin daughters. “Penn and Meyer are just as active and interested in the world around them as my wife, Izzi and I are,” says Brandon. The family loves to be outdoors hiking, fishing, and camping during the summer. “We have the perfect sized camper for the four of us,” he says. “I can hook it up to the truck and we can be on the road in minutes.” The family also enjoys skiing and snowboarding in the winter months. “The girls are pretty fearless,” says Brandon. “They really are up for any activity.” With their parent’s track record, it’s a good thing! Brandon and his wife are previous road racers and triathletes. “The longest race I’ve completed is the Ironman Austin 70.3 triathlon,” he says. “It consists of a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike ride, and a 13.1-mile run.” Whew! That’s endurance.

When Brandon and his family are ready for a break, they head into the kitchen. “I’m a foodie,” he laughs. “I’m always trying new recipes and especially like smoking and grilling just about anything.” His daughters are both good helpers (and eaters) in the kitchen! And of course, the Morgans are A#1 sports fans. “I have been a Kansas City Chiefs season ticket holder for over 10 years, so during football season, you can find us at Arrowhead Stadium,” he says. Brandon and his wife even met Anthony Sherman, a fullback for the Chiefs, at the Kansas City Speedway! “We had hot passes which gave us access to everything,” explains Brandon. “It was a great experience.”

Luckily, the Morgan family can still enjoy the great outdoors during these challenging times, but they sure hope the football season will be back in play soon. “We need another Super Bowl win!” says Brandon.
